My new challenge comes around in the form of working for Aspire2Be
I have been with Aspire2Be now as the Programme director for a little over a month, but what a month. I always knew that this change in career path would be an exciting prospect but in the short time we have been operating we have already achieved so much.
To start we have been working every wednesday with teachers and teaching assistants from 16 schools in Neath Port Talbot. Delivering the UPBEAT programme we are engaging staff to see the real possibilities of using the technology to directly impact on teaching and learning. This is not merely a training programme, it is an opportunity to embed the pedagogy at the heart of the teaching and learning, identifying where technology can enhance and transform the practice. The results after just five weeks are amazing
This is merely just the start though.
We are also getting asked to replicate this training programme in individual schools over a week, the first of which begins next week in the Midlands, followed by another in Caerphilly. These 1 week sessions will be intense but will give schools an excellent grounding to build on, getting ALL staff on the same page.
2 more whole cluster projects will be starting soon as well as some extremely innovative work using Beacons across schools, gyms, libraries and public sector office. It’s certainly never a dull moment at Aspire2Be.
